It's that time of year when being social is at it's height. Whether you're hosting a small gathering, headed to dinner at a friend's house, or needing a last minute housewarming gift, it's always a good idea to have a great bottle of wine in hand or ready to serve. We're known to have our neighbors and friends over quite often and keeping our wine rack and fridge stocked with a bit of variety to satisfy almost every taste is very important. Naturally, our go-to store for everything is Trader Joe’s! The best thing about buying wine at Trader Joe' is you don't have to break the bank to stock up on a great selection of wines. Inexpensive wines don't always mean cheap taste. In fact, we asked our local Trader Joe's wine and beverage director, TJ, his top 5 wine recommendations. And guess what!? They're all under $10!! We did a little sampling ourselves and we're happy to approve all the wonderful wine selections below pass the taste test. Check out the top 5 wines we now keep in our own homes:
1. Cherry Blossom Pinot Noir, 2016; California - $3.99
Eclectic flavors and aromas of strawberry, black cherry, plum and potpourri with notes of forest floor, mushroom or black tea.
2. Trader Joe’s Reserve Petit Verdot LOT #154 , 2018; California - $9.99
Juicy blackberry mixed with lavender on the palate with extremely soft supple tannins.
3. Vignobles Lacheteau, 2019; Vouvray- $9.99
This shiny golden wine offers richness with acacia, pear and almond aromas. Best enjoyed with cheeses, spicy dishes or Indian food.
4. Tuatea Sauvignon Blanc, 2019; Marlbourgh - $6.99
It tastes of grapefruit and lime, spiced apple, a little vanilla cream. The mid-palate shows peach, pear and mild pepper.
5. La Coqueluche Rosé, 2018; California - $7.99
This tastes of strawberry, juicy peach, watermelon and apricot, with a slight brush of minerality.
