Spiced Apple Cider Hot Toddy

PSL might be your go-to fall drink, but we are partial to another autumn staple…. the Hot Toddy! Nothing is more perfect than a cool fall day, snuggled up on the sofa with your favorite blanket, a moody melody in the background and warm drink in hand (especially a spiked one!). We’ve got the perfect twist to your hot toddy that includes comforting fall spices by adding apple cider and caramels for a creamy texture giving it a delicious twist!

Spiced Apple Cider Hot Toddy

12 oz Apple Cider (we love Trader Joe’s)

2-3 Cinnamon Sticks

10 Caramel Chews

8 Whole Cloves

2 Tablespoons Honey

4 oz Bourbon or flavored Whiskey (Honey Whiskey or Cinnamon Whiskey)

Squeeze of Lemon

Instructions:

In a saucepot, combine apple cider, cinnamon, caramels, and cloves. Stir often and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and cover with a lid for 10-15 minutes. Make sure caramels completely melt before straining spices.

Strain spices. Stir in honey to dissolve. Add whiskey and juice from half of a lemon. Stir to combine. Pour into your favorite mug (we love these adorable Olive Green Kings Cup Mugs pictured above. Get them here!) and garnish with cinnamon sticks, sliced apples, lemon wedges, or get creative and skewer a piece of honeycomb to stir your drink with! Serves 2-3 cups.
